Rain?

Privacy Policy

Last updated 27 February 2026

The short version

Rain? accesses your location to fetch a rain forecast. Your location is sent to Apple's weather service, which does not track you. We do not collect, store, or share any of your data. That's it.

01

Location data

Rain? requests access to your device's location while the app is in use. This is the only piece of personal data the app accesses, and it is used for a single purpose: to request a hyperlocal precipitation forecast from Apple WeatherKit for your current coordinates.

Your location is sent directly from your device to Apple's weather service. It is not routed through any server we operate, and we never see, store, or have access to your coordinates.

You can revoke location access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Rain?. If you do, the app will be unable to provide a forecast.

02

Weather data

Rain? uses Apple WeatherKit to provide minute-by-minute precipitation forecasts. Apple's weather service is designed to deliver forecasts without compromising user privacy. According to Apple, location information provided to WeatherKit is used only to generate weather forecasts, is not associated with any personally identifiable information, and is never tracked between requests.

For more information, see Apple's Weather & Privacy policy.

03

Data we collect

None. Rain? does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. We do not operate servers, databases, or analytics services. There are no user accounts, no sign-in, and no tracking of any kind.

No analytics
No advertising
No user tracking
No data sharing
04

Third-party services

The only third-party service Rain? communicates with is Apple WeatherKit, which is governed by Apple's privacy policy. No other third-party services receive any data from the app.

05

Children's privacy

Rain? does not collect any data from any user, including children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). The app does not contain advertising, in-app purchases, or links to social media.

06

Data retention

Since we do not collect any data, there is nothing to retain or delete.

07

Your rights

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and other applicable data protection laws, you have rights including the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data. Because Rain? does not collect or store any personal data, there is no data for us to provide, correct, or delete.

If you have any questions about your rights or this policy, you can contact us using the details below.
